1. About My Plan Companion
My Plan Companion ("MPC") is a self-guided preparedness, organization, and information-sharing platform. Depending on your plan, MPC may provide:
- Preparedness assessments
- Personalized preparedness views
- Guided planning paths
- Suggested next steps
- Organizational tools
- MPC Access sharing
- Legacy Access features
- Service-provider directory and search tools
MPC does not provide professional advice. See Section 2.
2. Not Professional Advice
My Plan Companion is not a law firm, an attorney, a financial advisor, a tax advisor, an insurance advisor or provider, a medical provider, or a funeral provider.
Information provided by the app is educational and organizational. It does not constitute individualized legal, financial, tax, insurance, medical, or other professional advice. For advice specific to your situation, please consult a qualified professional.
3. Not a Legal Document
Information you enter in My Plan Companion does not itself:
- Create a Will or Trust
- Create a Power of Attorney
- Create a healthcare directive
- Create beneficiary designations
- Legally appoint a guardian for your children or dependents
- Create any other legal instrument or contract
- Override applicable law or valid legal documents
You are responsible for completing legally required documents through appropriate professionals and processes when needed.
4. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- The accuracy of the information you enter
- Keeping your information current over time
- Deciding what you share and with whom
- Choosing who receives MPC Access thoughtfully
- Safeguarding your Legacy Key and Recovery Code
- Ensuring important legal and financial documents are properly executed outside My Plan Companion where required
5. MPC Access
- A person appearing in "My People" is not automatically given MPC Access. Relationship and person records are separate from access authorization.
- MPC Access must be explicitly authorized by you through an invitation.
- You control which categories of information each person with MPC Access may see, where supported.
- You choose whether each person has Summary or Detailed access within those categories, where supported.
- People with MPC Access receive read-only access to the information you have authorized. They cannot edit your plan.
- Access can be changed or revoked at any time, subject to the features available within the app.
6. Legacy Access
- A Legacy Key is an access credential used as part of Legacy Access.
- Possession of a Legacy Key alone does not grant or establish authorization to access another person's plan. Access remains subject to applicable authorization, permissions, authentication, and MPC access controls.
- People with MPC Access may use authorized Legacy Access to view the portions of your plan you have shared with them.
- Recovery credentials may be available to help restore access in certain situations.
- You must protect your Legacy Key and Recovery Code. Sharing them is like sharing the keys to the information you have stored.
7. Document Storage
- Document uploads are optional. Eligible plans may provide document storage.
- You may instead record that a document exists and where it is kept without uploading a copy.
- Storing a copy of a document in My Plan Companion does not validate, execute, notarize, or make it legally binding.
- My Plan Companion is not a password manager. Do not upload passwords, PINs, recovery phrases, account credentials, or other sensitive access codes.
8. Plans and Purchases
My Plan Companion offers three plans:
- Free: Complete a preparedness assessment and receive a personalized preview of areas that may deserve attention.
- Prepared: A one-time purchase that unlocks the core tools needed to build and organize a preparedness plan.
- Premium: A one-time purchase that unlocks expanded capacity and additional planning, organization, storage, sharing, and preparedness features.
Current retail pricing: Prepared, $49 one-time. Premium, $99 one-time. One-time purchase. No subscription required.
Purchases and access remain subject to these Terms and the continued availability of the service. Feature availability may evolve over time. Purchasing a plan does not guarantee access to features that have not yet been released. Specific feature capacities are maintained by the pricing and entitlement system and may change.
9. Promotions
Promotional pricing, discounts, benefits, partner offers, or special offers may have separate eligibility, duration, or conditions, which will be disclosed with the offer.
10. Refunds
- A standard 7-calendar-day refund-request window applies to each purchase.
- Submitting a refund request does not guarantee approval. Each request is reviewed individually.
- Substantial use of the purchased features may affect eligibility where legally permitted.
- Duplicate charges, payment errors, and verified technical issues may receive separate consideration.
- Purchasing an upgrade does not restart the refund-request window for an earlier purchase.
11. Third-Party Service Providers
My Plan Companion may display information about attorneys, funeral homes, and other third-party providers through the "Find Local Services" directory. Provider information may come from third-party services or from providers themselves.
Unless MPC explicitly states otherwise:
- Directory inclusion is not an endorsement.
- It is not a recommendation.
- It is not verification of licensing, qualifications, or credentials.
- It is not a guarantee of quality, availability, pricing, or suitability.
You are responsible for evaluating any provider. MPC is not responsible for the professional services, advice, or actions of third-party providers.
12. Availability and Changes
We may update or modify service functionality, features, policies, and supported integrations from time to time. While we strive to provide a reliable service, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes where appropriate.
13. Prohibited Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, data, or systems
- Misuse another person's information
- Upload malicious, harmful, or unlawful content
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to bypass access controls, security features, or sharing permissions
14. Account Termination and Access
You may stop using My Plan Companion at any time. We may suspend or restrict access in cases of violation of these Terms or to protect the service and its users. If you have questions about your account or data, support contact information will be provided through MyPlanCompanion.com.
15. Limitation of Liability
My Plan Companion is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. You acknowledge that the information you enter is for organizational purposes and that you are responsible for verifying its accuracy and completeness. You are responsible for completing any legally required documents through appropriate professionals.
16. Contact
Support contact information will be provided through MyPlanCompanion.com.
